Born in Havana and Graduated from Design Art Institute, I have been lucky enough to work on large projects throughout my career in my field, from creating Brands for Restaurant Corporations in the 1990s to being Art Director at the prestigious Storecom International firm working for Big Brands such as Philip Morris, Procter & Gamble, Nestle Latin America, Coca Cola, Gerber ad more…

I worked as a Freelance Video Producer on TV Networks such as Telemundo, Mega Teve, Univision, Ole TV, Fox Miami, and others, as a Marketing planner and Content Creator for Social Media in different companies growing their audience on their platforms.

With several Gallery exhibitions of my photographic work, I have shown the world the face of Havana with a collection displayed in different restaurants in Miami Beach as part of their decoration.

For more than 30 years with skills in Graphic and Industrial Design, 3D Modeling and Animation, Web Design, Motion Graphics, Video Production, and post-production in Film and Television, I enjoy my work every day.

Biography

Waldo Alexander Arias is a seasoned creative professional with an extensive background in television production, graphic design, photography, and industrial design. Currently serving as the Television Supervisor for Polk County Government Television (PGTV), Waldo brings over two decades of diverse experience across multiple industries, from corporate marketing to public communications. His leadership at PGTV involves managing and directing a team responsible for producing government programming that serves the residents of Polk County, Florida, ensuring quality, informative content that engages the community.

Born and raised in Havana, Cuba, Waldo’s creative journey began with a passion for visual storytelling. He pursued industrial design and graphic arts studies, laying the foundation for his expansive career. His early work in Cuba gave him an eye for aesthetic detail and a deep appreciation for architecture, culture, and art. After relocating to the United States, Waldo’s career flourished as he collaborated with several major global corporations.

Before transitioning into government television, Waldo was a graphic designer, art director, and industrial designer for prominent firms; in this capacity, I successfully led numerous high-profile campaigns, the past to being Art Director at the prestigious Storecom International firm working for Brands such as Philip Morris, Procter & Gamble, Nestle Latin America, Coca-Cola, Gerber, and more developed comprehensive communication strategies, and fostered strong relationships with media outlets and stakeholders. His contributions in these positions spanned branding, packaging design, and promotional campaigns, all exemplifying his innovative approach and technical expertise. Working for such industry giants, Waldo developed a strong understanding of consumer behavior, product design, and visual marketing, skills that continue to influence his work today.

As a photographer and TV producer, Waldo’s creativity extended into visual media. He directed various television programs, commercials, and documentaries, which showcased his ability to combine his graphic design expertise with live-action direction. His portfolio includes fashion photography, digital art, and commercial campaigns for luxury brands. His projects have been displayed in numerous exhibitions and have garnered attention for their unique aesthetic that blends classical techniques with modern technology.

At PGTV, Waldo has used his multidisciplinary background to modernize and innovate government television programming. His ability to manage the technical and creative aspects of television production has elevated the quality of content, from live broadcasts to high-profile county events. Waldo’s leadership ensures that the PGTV team consistently delivers professional and engaging programming that informs the public and enhances the county’s communication efforts. He has taken the PGTV team to new levels with his forward thinking in adding reels and stories to grow a new, younger audience in the county, more followers, and engagement. Producing more content in Spanish for the Hispanic community in the county is one of the goals that has been achieved in the almost two years of working with PGTV, in addition to changing the station IDs, Billboards, and the content in the video for the social media channels, for the government brings more diversity.
